| Jeremie Northcross, St. Louis Man, Shoots Girlfriend Trinity Staten Dead After Argument at Gas Station Moments Before She Entered Ride-Share Vehicle |
A St. Louis, Missouri man has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend moments before she entered a ride-share vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Trinity Staten, of Normandy, was fatally shot near North Broadway and East Clarence on the city’s north side just before 2:30 a.m. She was pronounced dead shortly after the ride-share driver attempted to transport her to a hospital.
Authorities identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jeremie Northcross, the victim’s boyfriend, according to First Alert 4.
During their investigation, St. Louis police located a firearm in Northcross’ vehicle. The suspect later admitted to firing at a vehicle earlier that morning, investigators said.
According to KSDK, the incident began with an argument between the couple at a Mobil gas station, after which Staten reportedly ordered a Lyft ride to leave the area. As she entered the arriving vehicle, Northcross allegedly opened fire, striking her multiple times.

“We all want to get home to our families. It could have just as easily been a driver or a passenger,” said ride-share driver Doug Merry, speaking to the outlet.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has since charged Northcross with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the fatal shooting.
Detectives believe the killing was domestic-related, though the precise motive has not yet been disclosed.
The Homicide Division continues to investigate and urges anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives directly at 314-444-5371.
