A New York man has been convicted of murder for fatally shooting his girlfriend’s teenage son and injuring her and her younger son during a violent domestic dispute inside their Somers home last year.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, Fernando Jimenez Meza, 41, pleaded guilty on October 23, 2025, to several charges including second-degree murder, attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing.

The plea follows the October 28, 2024, attack that claimed the life of 15-year-old Michael Raimondi and left his mother, Christina Raimondi, and his 13-year-old brother, Matthew Raimondi, critically wounded.

Investigators said Meza, who was dating Christina at the time, began arguing with her inside the home before retrieving a revolver from his car. He shot Christina, then entered the children’s bedroom and opened fire on Michael and Matthew.

Michael was pronounced dead at the scene. Christina and Matthew were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but ultimately survived.

In the days following the tragedy, relatives launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the family. The fundraiser described Christina’s critical condition and the family’s grief over losing Michael, who was remembered as a bright, imaginative teen with a love for animals, nature, and building complex LEGO creations.

“Michael saw limitless possibilities in everyday objects,” his obituary read. “When he chose to express himself, he was purposeful with his words—whether or not you caught his message through his cleverness and wit was on you.”

Nearly a year later, Christina shared in a July 2025 GoFundMe update that she and Matthew were relocating and preparing to close on a new home. “This is my first home purchase, something I never imagined doing alone,” she wrote. “I wish more than anything that Michael was here with us to share this moment. He deserves to be here. I miss him every single day.”

Fernando Jimenez Meza is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
