An Illinois mother, Robyn Polston, 43, has been arrested after giving birth to a child fathered by a 14-year-old boy — the same teen who had once been her daughter’s date to a junior high dance, according to police and court records.
Authorities say Polston was taken into custody Monday morning and charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault involving a victim between the ages of 13 and 17, as well as two counts of possession of child pornography, according to documents obtained by The Post.
The disturbing case came to light after the Washington Police Department opened an investigation following Polston’s childbirth in January 2025, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit reviewed by People.
When officers began reviewing records, including the newborn’s birth certificate, they noticed that the baby’s name shared both the middle and last name of the alleged 14-year-old victim.
Polston allegedly told investigators that the father was a “man in his twenties named Brian,” claiming she had cut contact with him after giving birth. However, police found that explanation suspicious and continued digging.

Investigators also uncovered sexually explicit photos and videos involving Polston and the teen, found through phone records and digital evidence. The two allegedly used burner phones under fake names to hide their communications, and Polston reportedly tried to pressure the boy into helping her cover up their relationship, according to 25 News Now.
A DNA test later confirmed that the 14-year-old was indeed the baby’s biological father. Prosecutors told the court that Polston could not be trusted to avoid contact with the victim, adding that her mother and sister had allegedly enabled the illegal relationship.
