Aladrian Shynece Chandler, a 26-year-old food delivery driver from Florence County, South Carolina, has admitted to performing a sexual act on a 14-year-old boy while her three children were inside her vehicle, according to law enforcement officials.
Chandler was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree criminal sexual misconduct with a minor in Lake City. She was booked into the Florence County Detention Center on December 8. According to a police report obtained by WBTW, Chandler admitted to having a sexual encounter with the teen but claimed they did not have intercourse.
Investigators said Chandler told them she believed the teen was older than 14 at the time of the incident. However, under South Carolina law, a “mistake of age” is not a valid legal defense.
The 14-year-old victim told police he met Chandler while she was delivering food. They reportedly exchanged phone numbers on November 16 and began texting shortly afterward.
The investigation began two days later when Chandler reported that a gun had been stolen from her car. During questioning, she provided a written statement claiming the teen had taken the firearm from her vehicle after she visited a friend’s house to discuss her communication with the minor. It has not been clarified when the alleged sexual encounter took place.
Chandler remains in custody. Although a bond hearing was scheduled for December 8, detention.
