A McDonald’s drive-thru worker in Davenport, Florida, is accused of shooting a customer in the neck following a violent altercation that erupted after two men were denied service for being too busy.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded around 3 a.m. on October 12 when Peter Story, 19, and Nicholas Jones, 18, were refused service at the McDonald’s drive-thru located about 35 miles southwest of Orlando.
The two men allegedly became enraged and threatened the employee, identified as 21-year-old Yoan Soto, telling him they would “beat his ass” and wait for him in the parking lot.

“We’re going to hang out here,” the customers reportedly told Soto. “When you get off, we’re going to beat you up.”
Sheriff Judd described the confrontation as a “McArgument over McHamburgers or lack of McHamburgers.”
When the store manager intervened, the two men allegedly threatened a mass shooting inside the store — prompting Soto to retrieve his firearm.

“It’s a blessing it was a very minor wound,” Sheriff Judd said. “But when you start shooting McGuns, you’ll get people’s attention — and they’ll let you McHave the restaurant. And that’s what they did.”
Soto initially fled the scene and took the spent casing with him, which police later recovered at his home. He later returned to cooperate with authorities.

Sheriff Judd concluded:
“It’s never OK to threaten a mass shooting. It’s never OK to threaten to beat people up at a business. And it’s never OK to grab your gun and run after a shooting.
But these two created a well-founded fear in Soto and the manager. It was just a McMess — and we’re McGood at investigating McCrime.”
