A 26-year-old Louisiana woman, identified as Armoni “Karlei Rai” Anderson, has tragically died after being shot multiple times while sitting inside a parked car in Shreveport on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), officers initially responded to what was believed to be a traffic accident at the intersection of Claiborne Avenue and Queens Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered a man and a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds — along with a young child in the backseat who was miraculously unharmed.
Both adults were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Anderson was pronounced dead later that evening. The man — believed to be the father of Anderson’s young child — remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition, according to KTAL News.
Authorities say the shooting may have been domestic-related, though no suspects have been identified and no motive has yet been confirmed. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage and collecting evidence to piece together what happened.
A post shared on social media by family friend Maman Auta mourned Anderson’s death, writing:
“Armoni Anderson passed after being rushed to the hospital, while a man beside her fights to recover. Their child, found unharmed in the backseat, now faces life without a mother.”
Police continue to investigate the incident and have urged anyone with information to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300.
