Kentucky Woman Shocked After Receiving Human Arms and Fingers Instead of Medication in Bizarre Delivery Mix-Up

A woman in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, got the shock of her life when she opened a delivery box expecting medication — only to find human body parts, including arms and fingers, packed inside.

According to authorities, the chilling mix-up happened on Wednesday when a package meant for surgical training was accidentally delivered to the wrong address in Hopkinsville, located about 75 miles northwest of Nashville, Tennessee.

Startled by the discovery, the unnamed woman immediately called 911, fearing she had stumbled into a crime scene. In the recorded emergency call obtained by WSMV, the woman can be heard saying:

“Two boxes just arrived. One of them had human body parts, and we don’t want to be in possession of body parts that don’t belong to us.”

Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel confirmed to LEX 18 that the shipment contained arms and fingers used for medical training. The package, he said, was intended for a medical facility but was mistakenly delivered to the woman’s home instead.

“Yes, true story,” Daniel told NBC News. “She was expecting medical supplies and found arms and fingers in the box. The package was intended for surgical training but was somehow delivered to her front porch.”

Daniel added that the shipment likely involved an airline company, a freight handler, and a courier service, and that the human remains were properly retrieved the following morning.

“We were able to reach the courier, who picked up the package the next day,” Daniel said. “I stored the box in our morgue until he arrived. The resident received her correct medication and medical supplies shortly afterward.”

Authorities emphasized that human body parts are sometimes shipped legally for medical research, surgical training, and transplant purposes, and that no foul play was suspected in this case.

Still, for one Hopkinsville resident, the experience brought a whole new meaning to Halloween horror delivered to your doorstep.
