Fiancé and sister of missing woman in custody after body found in Manistee National Forest

Two relatives connected to 39-week pregnant Michigan woman Rebecca Kay Park appeared in court Wednesday on separate criminal charges, just one day after her body was found in the Manistee National Forest in Boon Township on November 25.

During a November 26 arraignment at the Wexford County Courthouse, Kimberly Sue Park, Rebecca’s sister, was charged with tampering with evidence, filing a false report of a felony, and lying to a peace officer during a violent crime investigation. Her bond was set at $750,000, according to 9&10 News. Tampering with evidence is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, lying to a police officer carries up to 4 years in prison and a $5,000 fine, and filing a false report of a felony is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 4 years in prison and a $2,000 fine. The court also deemed Kimberly Park a flight risk and a threat to the community, UpNorthLive reported.

As of the arraignment, Kimberly Park’s charges have not been directly linked to Rebecca Park’s death. The cause and manner of death remain pending an autopsy, and authorities have not confirmed whether foul play was involved, despite widespread online speculation.

Rebecca Park’s fiancé, Richard Lee Falor, also appeared in court Wednesday. He was charged with two counts of delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and a fourth-offense habitual offender notice. His bond was set at $1,000,000, with the judge citing him as a flight risk and a threat to the public. If released, Falor would be placed under GPS-monitored house arrest. Each drug charge carries a potential 20-year prison sentence and a $25,000 fine, and as a habitual offender with three prior felonies, he could face a life sentence. Falor’s charges, like those of Kimberly Park, have not been directly connected to Rebecca Park’s death. He is also listed as non-compliant on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry.

Rebecca Park was last seen on November 3 getting into a vehicle while nearly full-term in her pregnancy. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of her death, and authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or death.
