Cutler Bay, FL – Lynn My Le, 26, of Cutler Bay, Florida, was arrested Sunday after allegedly stabbing her 15-year-old sister multiple times following a confrontation over the teen catching her going through her cellphone.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at a home on the 21100 block of Southwest 92nd Avenue in Cutler Bay. Deputies reported that the younger sister was sleeping in the living room when she woke up to find her older sister going through her phone.
The teen asked Le why she was snooping and tried to take back her cellphone. Authorities say Le then armed herself with a black knife, according to WPLG.
The victim ran toward the front door, but Le chased her and allegedly stabbed her about four times in the back. The teen collapsed, yet Le continued stabbing her sister about six more times across her body. The victim pleaded for her life before Le finally stopped.
Deputies confirmed the teen was stabbed approximately ten times and was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, she survived.
Le was arrested on an attempted murder charge. A motive for the attack has not yet been disclosed, and deputies noted that Le refused to speak with investigators.
On Monday, Le appeared before a judge, who ruled that she be held in jail without bond. She is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
