A 58-year-old Brooklyn woman was stabbed to death by her daughter in an apparent murder-suicide inside their Park Slope residence on Saturday evening, police said.
The New York Police Department responded to an apartment building at 386 2nd St. near Fifth Avenue around 8 p.m., where they discovered Olga Elena Bracero unconscious with multiple stab wounds. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
During a search of the residence, officers found Bracero's 23-year-old daughter, Kayla Wilson, also suffering from multiple fatal stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe Wilson stabbed her mother before taking her own life with the same weapon.
Neighbors shared that Bracero, a local vegan chef, had previously sought help regarding her daughter's mental health issues and substance-related struggles. This tragedy marks the second murder-suicide to occur within the exact same building in two years, following an incident on January 24, 2024, when Jason Jackson shot and killed his girlfriend, Olga Kirshenbaum, before taking his own life. The investigation remains ongoing.
