Bradford. Derrick Perry tackled homeless suspect James Gille in the Walmart Supercenter in Traverse City after he stabbed eleven people.

According to information, Derrick Perry with marine veteran, Matthew K, took out gun on Bradford James Gille.

Bradford James Gille was identified as the suspect in the stabbing at Traverse City Walmart on Saturday. The 42-year-old from Cheboygan, Michigan, left at least 11 people injured, officials confirmed. Now, his alleged mugshot and social media profile have surfaced on X. However, additional details still remain unconfirmed. 

Michigan authorities said on Sunday that they are seeking to file terrorism charges and 11 charges of assault with intent to murder against Gille. The suspect entered the Walmart store on Saturday and randomly stabbed the victims with a pocket knife. He was arrested at the scene with the help of bystanders at the store.

“I cannot command everyone that was involved enough. When you stop and look from the time of call to the time of actual custody, the individual was detained within one minute. That is remarkable. When you look at it in that mitigated Lord knows how many additional victims,” Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said at a press conference.

Authorities say the suspect, a 42-year-old Michigan man, entered the store and began attacking shoppers at random with a folding knife. The motive remains unknown, and the suspect’s identity has not yet been released.

What could have been an even greater tragedy was stopped by brave actions from everyday citizens — including an armed individual named Derrick Perry who drew his weapon and, along with other bystanders, disarmed and detained the attacker until law enforcement arrived.

A sheriff’s deputy responded within minutes of the 911 call and took the suspect into custody. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect acted alone.

At this time, not all the names of who assisted in subduing the attacker have not been released, but law enforcement has acknowledged their quick and courageous response likely prevented additional casualties.
