Spencer Scrioner Identified as Correctional Officer Who Shot and Killed Erik Spencer in Jefferson City

Spencer Scrioner has been identified as the correctional officer who allegedly shot and killed Erik Spencer in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Hundreds of students are mourning the tragic death of Erik Spencer, who was fatally shot near a shopping center on November 1st.

While authorities have yet to officially confirm the shooter’s identity, multiple witnesses claim that the individual responsible was an off-duty law enforcement officer.

According to those present, Erik and his girlfriend were leaving a store when they got into a brief verbal disagreement. A white man—believed to be an off-duty officer—intervened, despite being told the situation was under control. Moments later, the man allegedly opened fire, striking Erik multiple times.

Friends of the victim insist that Erik posed no threat and that the shooting was unprovoked. Authorities have not disclosed whether Scrioner has been detained or voluntarily turned himself in as investigations continue.
