Nevada teacher Taji Hillson, 62, admits abusing dozens of kids as young as two-years-old

A female educator reportedly confessed to having abused numerous children, including one as young as two.

Taji Hillson, 62, from Reno, was apprehended on July 2, just a day after she purportedly placed an apology letter in a victim's mailbox.

Her arrest occurred several months after a female adult relative submitted a police report on April 30, claiming that Hillson had sexually abused her as both a child and an adult.

Even after the relative filed four additional police reports containing further evidence, Hillson continued her role as a substitute physical education teacher at Roy Gomm Elementary School until the term concluded on June 13. Authorities do not believe that the victims of Hillson's abuse included any of her students.

Almost two weeks after, Reno Police questioned Hillson regarding the allegations, and she purportedly admitted to abusing several children, primarily relatives from North Carolina, and inappropriately touching a two-year-old at a pool within the last two years.

She told authorities that she engaged in "all of the actions as she never felt seen and wished to feel close to another human," according to the arrest report obtained by The Reno Gazette-Journal.

The adult victim lived next door to Hillson and was financially reliant on her, as stated in court documents acquired by 2 News Nevada.

Allegedly, she began abusing the adult victim two decades ago, and this came to light only after Hillson left an apology letter in her mailbox.

Her arrest followed months after a female adult relative filed a police report on April 30, accusing Hillson of having sexually abused her in childhood.

"The defendant admitted to administering Benadryl to sedate her by secretly incorporating it into her food," the police report indicated.

"The defendant recounted performing this act throughout the victim's childhood but more often between the ages of 6 and 12, particularly while her husband worked night shifts at that time."

She would give the victim doses of Benadryl up to three times higher than the recommended amount to "control" her. While the woman was asleep, the mother of two would touch her inappropriately.

She also allegedly confessed to authorities that she drugged and molested the victim in her adult years as well.

The female victim presented police with text messages and the letter in which Hillson supposedly admitted to her offenses on July 1.

Hillson was booked into Washoe County Jail with a bail set at $5 million with no cash option available, facing charges of sexual assault against a child under 14 years old, sexual assault, and three counts of lewdness with a child under 14.

"The accusations in this case are extremely troubling and currently involve two victims, one of whom is a toddler. I applaud the remarkable bravery of the adult victim who came forward to report this abuse," District Attorney Chris Hicks stated.

"A courageous action that has enabled us to pursue justice and safeguard others from harm."

She informed police that she carried out "all of the actions as she never felt seen and longed for closeness with another person," according to the arrest report.

Hillson is prohibited from having any contact with the victim and, should she post bail, will be required to wear GPS monitoring.

Currently, Washoe County Jail does not have Hillson listed on its roster.

Daily Mail has sought comments from the DA's Office, the school, and Hillson's family.
