Amanda Manda has been shot dead at 77th and Essex

On Friday night, August 29th, 2025, about 11:56 p.m., Chicago Police responded to reports of two people shot at 77th and Essex.

Officers arrived and saw the front door was open, so they entered. Amanda was found inside the house with two GSWs to her abdomen and one in her leg.

She was taken to UofC Hospital and pronounced 0-1-1-0 (Deceased).  A 23-year-old female was found with two GSWs to the leg and one to the knee. She is listed in fair condition.

Witnesses indicated a known female criminal who fled the area on foot, possibly abandoning the gun. K-9 was called in to look for the firearm.

CPD has taken custody of the female offender.
