On Monday afternoon, a man accused of a fatal shooting in Edinburg was charged with murder.
Freddy Mireles, 32, was given a $2.5 million bond for the shooting that murdered Julio Cesar Soto Jr., 26, on Sunday.

At 9:22 p.m. Sunday, deputies went to a shooting in the 4500 block of Fe Drive in rural Edinburg, where they discovered Soto inside a property with a gunshot wound to the head.
Three witnesses at the site made statements to investigators, claiming that the Mireles and Soto were singing together when the alleged gunman opened fire.
According to witness testimony, Mireles fled the scene of the incident with an AR-style rifle and drove away in a red suspect car.
Investigators located the suspect vehicle and Mireles at his home, where he was detained without incident.
