Jo-Ann Ntokoto Mabasa was arrested after she stabbed Xichavo Ntsanwisi to death after the DSTV Delicious Festival

A woman from Midrand has been arrested for the murder of her boyfriend. A 22-year-old Midrand lady from Kremetart in Giyani, Limpopo, has been arrested for allegedly killing her lover in the early hours of Monday, September 22, 2025.

Mr. Xichavo Ntsanwisi, 31, of Mhinga village outside Malamulele and a Greater Giyani Municipality employee, was discovered dead at Colnbrook Estate in Noordwyk, Midrand.

Sergeant M. Papama, a SAPS Midrand spokeswoman, stated that police responded to a report at approximately 01:58. When authorities arrived, they discovered Ntsanwisi lying on the kitchen floor with a knife wound to the upper chest near the neck. A knife with a yellow handle was discovered next to his body.

The suspect, identified as Miss Jo-Ann Ntokoto Mabasa, was found at the scene and admitted to stabbing her boyfriend. Paramedics from Netcare Ambulance declared Ntsanwisi dead on the spot.

Mabasa was arrested and taken into custody at SAPS Midrand. The Duty Officer, Crime Office, LCRC, and mortuary services attended the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.
