Two guys were shot and died in Little Village less than a day apart.

Morgan Alaniz, 18, was gunned murdered late Sunday night on South Drake Avenue. The following morning, a 48-year-old man was shot many times on South Kolin Avenue and eventually died in the hospital. Though it is unclear whether the crimes are directly related, the tight timing has prompted fears of additional reprisal in the area in the coming weeks, prompting worry that the cycle of violence would worsen.
