A heartbreaking tragedy has unfolded in Angleton, Brazoria County, Texas, after a shooting at a gas station early Saturday morning left two children dead and two others critically injured.
According to reports, police were called around 5 a.m. to a Shell gas station located off State Highway 288, between FM 521 and Highway 288B, after frantic calls about shots fired.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered four young children had been shot. Two of the victims, a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old, were pronounced dead. Two others, ages 8 and 9, were rushed by air ambulance to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Law enforcement later confirmed that the injured children are expected to survive.

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office released a statement, saying:
“Investigators are collecting evidence and working to determine exactly what happened. All individuals believed to be involved have been detained, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. While details are still developing, the loss of two children in such a manner is a tragedy. Our thoughts are with the family and everyone affected as we continue to learn more about this heartbreaking situation.”
Law enforcement officials also told KHOU11 that the motive behind the shooting remains unknown at this time. The community, however, is reeling from the devastating incident, with many struggling to comprehend how such violence could claim the lives of two young children and leave two others fighting for theirs.
