Authorities in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, are investigating the death of Consuelo “Connie” Marie Chavez, a 27-year-old woman who was found deceased in the early hours of October 3 under what police have described as “suspicious circumstances.”
According to the Wheat Ridge Police Department, officers responded to the 4500 block of Everett Court, near 44th Avenue, where Chavez’s body was discovered. While official details remain limited, investigators confirmed that the incident is being treated as a possible homicide.
Friends and family of Chavez claim that a group of five women were allegedly involved in a physical assault that led to her death. Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media suggest she was beaten and run over by a vehicle. Police have not yet verified these claims publicly.
Footage shared online appears to show Chavez spending time with several of the alleged suspects earlier that evening, both on Snapchat and Ring security cameras. Authorities have not announced any arrests as of this time but confirmed that an active investigation is ongoing.
Chavez’s death has deeply affected the local community. On the evening following her passing, more than 100 people attended a vigil in her memory, sharing prayers, candles, and tributes to celebrate her life.
She is survived by three children, who are now in the care of their father, Jose, as family and friends continue to call for justice.
The Wheat Ridge Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
