Information reaching our desks has it that Facebook posts about Israel from Jihad Al-Shamie’s father, Faraj Al-Shamie, are going viral.

The father of the Manchester synagogue attacker allegedly praised the October 7 massacre as a “miracle” — and described Hamas gunmen as “God’s men on earth.”

Faraj Al-Shamie, a surgeon and father of the knife-wielding terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie, reportedly posted several statements on Facebook supporting the 2023 attacks against Israel. In one post, he called the atrocities a “miracle by all standards.”

These posts surfaced just hours after he issued a public statement distancing himself from the violent actions of his son during the Yom Kippur attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester.

Posts From October 7 Resurface

A Facebook post dated October 7, 2023, allegedly from Faraj Al-Shamie, read:

“The scenes broadcast by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade of fighters storming the camp of the occupation army with simple means, balloons and motorcycles, prove beyond doubt that Israel will not remain. Men like these are the men of God on Earth… they are confident of their victory.”

He went on to urge others to “take good care of your weapons and aim them accurately for your brothers” while invoking blessings for Palestine.

Viral Backlash

The resurfaced posts have since gone viral, sparking anger online and fueling debate about extremism within the family of the attacker.

Despite attempts to distance themselves from the actions of Jihad Al-Shamie, Faraj Al-Shamie’s past words have placed the family under growing scrutiny as the investigation into the synagogue attack continues.
