Authorities in Philadelphia have discovered human remains believed to belong to missing 23-year-old beauty pageant queen, Kada Scott, days after a man accused of abducting her was taken into custody.
Police say the remains were located Saturday morning in what appeared to be a fresh, shallow grave behind an abandoned school near the Awbury Arboretum in the Germantown neighborhood — an area that had been the focus of an intense search since Wednesday.
According to First Deputy Commissioner John Stanford, officers were led to the site following a “very specific” anonymous tip received overnight. The remains appeared to belong to a female, and the Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm the identity.
Sources told Action News that investigators had previously recovered Scott’s debit card and a phone case at the same location during the earlier search effort.

Authorities believe Scott was abducted and killed after failing to return home from her shift at an assisted senior living facility in Chestnut Hill.
Investigators are still trying to determine how King and Scott first met, though officials say they appeared to have had contact in the days leading up to her disappearance.
Before she went missing, Scott had allegedly told friends she was being harassed, though it remains unclear whether King was the person responsible.
King is currently being held on $2.5 million bail. Prosecutors also revealed he faces charges in a similar kidnapping and assault case from earlier this year — one that was previously dismissed after the victim failed to appear in court but will now be re-filed.In that prior case, King allegedly kidnapped a woman outside her home, choked her, assaulted her, and later released her, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Scott’s abduction and death, as the community mourns the loss of a young woman described as ambitious, kindhearted, and full of promise.
