Two women from Lakeside, Florida have been arrested after allegedly sending sexually explicit photos of a man to his new girlfriend in what authorities describe as a case of sexual cyber harassment fueled by jealousy.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Kristina Taylor and her friend Tara Johnson, also 36, were taken into custody on Monday for unlawfully distributing intimate images of Taylor’s former boyfriend. Investigators said Taylor sent the explicit photos to Johnson, who at the time served as the executive director of Hope House, a nonprofit organization in Bartow that supports single mothers.

Authorities allege that Johnson then reached out to the man’s new partner via Facebook, sending her the photos and an explicit video featuring Taylor and the man. Johnson reportedly told the woman that she was sharing the content because she had concerns about his “character.”
The sheriff’s office became involved on October 16, after a report was filed accusing Taylor of distributing X-rated material of her ex without his consent. The victims’ identities have not been released to the public.

“Sharing intimate and personal images of someone without their permission can cause harm to the reputation of the victim,” Sheriff Judd said. “The motivation to do something like this is typically out of spite, anger, or jealousy. It serves no purpose other than to humiliate or intimidate.”
During questioning, Taylor told detectives she is a partner in an insurance business, while Johnson confirmed her position as executive director at Hope House. However, shortly after her arrest became public, the organization announced Johnson had resigned. In a statement, Hope House wrote, “After years of exceptional service, our Executive Director Tara Johnson has chosen to step down to focus on personal matters.”
Johnson’s social media bio previously described her as a “Habitual iPhone Breaker, Super Mom, Executive Director @hope_house_fl.” Meanwhile, Taylor’s Facebook page lists her as a partner at Goosehead Insurance and a former employee at Wells Fargo.
Both women were booked into the Polk County Jail on Tuesday and released the following day on a $1,000 bond each. They now face first-offense sexual cyber harassment charges, which in Florida carry a potential penalty of up to one year in jail, one year of probation, or a fine of up to $1,000.
