Marrapese had pleaded guilty in April 2025 to first-degree domestic murder, admitting he killed Ise in her Cranston apartment after a month of escalating tensions following their breakup.
Timeline of Events Leading to Murder
Authorities said Marrapese and Ise ended their relationship a month prior to the slaying. Ise had decided to move out of their shared home, but Marrapese refused to allow her to collect her belongings. When she called the police, he was arrested for disorderly conduct after becoming “irate,” the Attorney General’s office stated.
After his release, Marrapese was arrested the following day for an altercation with his landlord and held briefly as a bail violator.

March 12, 2019: Marrapese went to Ise’s apartment early in the morning, knocking on her windows. When she did not answer, he confronted a neighbor at 6 a.m., asking if Ise was seeing anyone.

March 13, 2019: Marrapese returned and strangled Ise to death. He then drove to a friend’s home, confessing to the murder.
Confessions and Investigation
Police said Marrapese confessed multiple times: first to a friend, then during his transport to court, and later in phone calls and in-person conversations. He reportedly provided details about Ise’s death that were not publicly known, confirming his actions to investigators.
Attorney General Neronha emphasized the controlling and violent behavior that led to Ise’s death.
“This defendant consistently sought to exert control over Lauren. Now her friends and family are left to pick up the pieces,” Neronha said. “While nothing can bring Lauren back, I hope they now feel some semblance of peace knowing justice has been served.”
Sentence
Marrapese will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole, ensuring he will never harm another person.
