Oliver Holland and Eric Nixon Among Victims in Huntington Beach Helicopter Crash

A young boy, Oliver Holland, has been hospitalized after a helicopter crash in Huntington Beach, California, that also injured pilot Eric Nixon, a well-known aviation influencer, along with three others.

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred when the helicopter crash-landed near beachfront hotels along the 21000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, between Twin Dolphins Drive and Beach Boulevard, at around 2:09 p.m.

Family members said that Oliver’s sister confirmed he is currently brain dead after being struck and critically injured during the crash.

Media outlets identified the pilot as Eric Nixon, an aviation content creator famous online for his death-defying aerial stunts. Nixon was among the five people hospitalized after the crash, which also left another passenger, a child, and two adults on the ground injured.

Jerry Miller of Redlands, Nixon’s father-in-law, confirmed in a phone interview that Nixon was piloting the aircraft at the time. “He’s in the hospital with some broken ribs, crushed vertebrae, and several bruises,” Miller told the Orange County Register.

The Mirror US described Nixon as “a self-styled aviation enthusiast known to thousands online for his heart-stopping stunts — [who] has spent years posting footage of himself performing jaw-dropping maneuvers across the skies of the American West.”

Authorities have not released the official identities of all the victims. Bystander videos captured the helicopter spinning uncontrollably before crashing and becoming lodged in palm trees near the Waterfront Beach Resort and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa.

Police said investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
