A San Antonio, Texas man who reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home to surprise her with flowers ended up shooting and killing her new boyfriend early Sunday morning, according to local authorities.

Shiateek De-Shean Wilson, 23, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Noel Miller, which occurred around 2 a.m. on October 26 inside a residence in Bexar County.

A Deadly “Surprise” Gone Wrong

Investigators say Wilson snuck into his former girlfriend’s home late Saturday night, bringing flowers, money, and cocaine in what he claimed was an attempt to “surprise” her. He allegedly hid inside a closet until the woman returned home in the early morning hours with her new boyfriend.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KENS5, the woman went upstairs to shower shortly after arriving home. Moments later, she heard multiple gunshots. When she ran from the bathroom, she reportedly saw Wilson standing in the doorway with a gun in his hand.

The victim, Noel Miller, was found lying on a bed in an upstairs bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

The Suspect’s Escape and Arrest

After the shooting, Wilson allegedly took the woman’s phone and told her not to call anyone before fleeing the scene. Police later located and arrested him at a friend’s home later that morning.

During questioning, Wilson admitted to shooting Miller but claimed the act was in self-defense, insisting that the victim had aimed a gun at him first. However, police said no weapon belonging to Miller was found inside the residence.

Crime scene investigators recovered multiple shell casings and bullet defects throughout the home, but the firearm used in the shooting was not immediately located.

Charges and Ongoing Investigation

Wilson was booked into the Bexar County Jail, where he remains held on a $300,000 bond, according to court records. He faces one count of murder.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly encounter and whether the killing was premeditated.
