St. Helena Island Shooting Victims Identified as Amos Gary, Ashantek Danielle & Roddy “NKayKay” After Deadly Attack at Willie’s Bar & Grill in South Carolina

Authorities and community members have identified three of the four victims killed during the St. Helena Island mass shooting early Sunday morning as Amos Gary, Ashantek Danielle, and Roddy “NKayKay”, along with an unidentified security guard who also lost his life.

The deadly incident unfolded around 1 a.m. Sunday at Willie’s Bar and Grill, a popular local venue on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, when multiple gunmen opened fire on a packed crowd.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to find several victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, four victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while at least 20 others were injured, including four in critical condition.

Officials described the scene as “chaotic,” with hundreds of patrons fleeing in panic as authorities secured the area. Law enforcement agencies are now reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to identify those responsible for what is being described as one of Beaufort County’s deadliest shootings in recent history.

Friends and relatives have shared tributes to the victims online:

  • Amos Gary, described by loved ones as a humble and caring man, was remembered as someone who “never hurt anyone and always tried to protect others.”

    “My condolences to the whole family,” wrote relative JusJon Brown. “My cousin Amos Gary’s passing broke my heart.”

  • Ashantek Danielle, originally from Atlanta, had recently moved to St. Helena Island. She worked at Taylored Services and studied at UEI College.

    “Not my cousin, man! She didn’t deserve this,” wrote her cousin Ivory Albarezz.
    Another friend, Alexandriana Rucker, shared: “My little sweet and sour patch… I’m going to miss you and our Starbucks runs.”

  • Roddy “NKayKay”, a beloved St. Helena native, was identified as the third victim. Community vigils have since been held across the island in his memory.

Authorities have not yet announced any arrests or identified suspects, though they confirmed they are seeking multiple individuals believed to be involved in the attack.
