Information reaching our desks has it that Tyler Werner is the state trooper accused of forging evidence that falsely implicated Kyren Lacy in a fatal car crash.
According to reports, Bryahna Emani Gray was the driver responsible for the crash that claimed the life of veteran Herman Halls. Instead of taking responsibility, Gray allegedly lied and gave a statement that placed blame on standout LSU football player Kyren Lacy, leading to him being charged with negligent homicide.
Trooper Werner allegedly took Gray’s statement and conducted an “investigation,” during which he is accused of coercing a witness and forging testimony to make it appear that a “high-profile person” was responsible for the crash.
The false narrative had devastating consequences. Lacy, facing intense public scrutiny, online bullying, and emotional pressure, took his own life earlier this year.
At the time, the state claimed that Lacy caused the deadly crash by recklessly passing cars, crossing the center line, and fleeing the scene. Before he could face a grand jury, Lacy ended his life, saying he felt his future and football dreams were over.
Now, newly released surveillance and bodycam footage tell a different story. The evidence shows that Lacy had re-entered his lane and did not cause the collision. He was innocent all along.
Lacy’s attorney stated that the video footage clears him completely, exposing the misconduct that led to his wrongful blame.
