Jacob E. Prichard Shoots Wife Jaymee Dead, Kills Wright-Patterson AFB Co-Worker Jaime S. Gustitus Before Taking Own Life

An Ohio man is believed to have killed his wife and a co-worker before taking his own life at a third location early Saturday morning in what investigators are calling a murder-suicide spanning three cities.

Jacob E. Prichard, 34, of Huber Heights, allegedly shot and killed his wife, Jaymee M. Prichard, 33, before fatally shooting his Wright-Patterson Air Force Base co-worker, Jaime S. Gustitus, 25. He then drove to the West Milton Municipal Building, where he took his own life.

The series of killings began around 2 a.m. Saturday in Sugarcreek Township, when a resident called 911 after hearing someone breaking into a nearby residence. “The glass door shattered. I think they shattered her door,” the caller told dispatchers, according to WHIO. The witness said a man outside warned her that he had a gun before running off.

Police later identified that man as Jacob Prichard, who investigators say fatally shot Gustitus inside her condo in the 1600 block of Honey Tree Place. Officers tried reaching her by phone minutes later but received no response.

Investigators believe Prichard had already killed his wife earlier that night in Huber Heights before driving to Gustitus’s home and shooting her. He then drove to the West Milton Municipal Building, arriving around 4 a.m., where security footage shows him parking in the facility’s safety exchange zone. Prichard was seen opening the trunk of his car—where police later found his wife’s body—before turning the gun on himself.

Jaime S. Gustitus of Sugarcreek Township, Ohio who worked with her alleged killer, at the Wright Patterson Air Force base.
A handgun was recovered beside his body when officers discovered the vehicle around 5 a.m. Police believe Prichard intentionally parked at the municipal building so authorities would find his wife’s body.

West Milton Police Chief Doyle Wright confirmed that all three individuals knew one another and were employed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, though the motive remains unclear.

Authorities identified three connected crime scenes: Huber Heights, where Jaymee was killed; Sugarcreek Township, where Gustitus was murdered; and West Milton, where Prichard died by suicide.

Community members described Jaymee Prichard as a devoted mother and kind neighbor, while Jaime Gustitus was remembered as a bright and promising young professional. Jacob and Jaymee leave behind three children.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Wright-Patterson Office of Special Investigations, continue to investigate the incident.
