Addelyn Thornsberry, 11-year-old Robertson County, Kentucky girl, found safe after family discovered video saying she planned to run away

An 11-year-old girl from Robertson County, Kentucky, who had been reported missing earlier this week, has been found safe, according to officials.

Addelyn Thornsberry was located on Tuesday following an overnight search that began after her family discovered a video she had recorded indicating she planned to run away. The Kentucky State Police confirmed the young girl’s safety but did not immediately disclose where she was found or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

The case first gained attention Monday after Addelyn’s mother reported her missing, saying she was unable to reach her daughter and that Addelyn’s Life360 tracking app had stopped updating her location. Concern grew rapidly as authorities and community members joined forces to search for the pre-teen across Robertson County and surrounding areas.

Local reports stated that Robertson County Emergency Management conducted ground searches, while KSP aircraft joined in as temperatures began to drop. Addelyn’s photo and description were shared widely on social media, with residents urged to keep an eye out for the missing child.

At the time of her disappearance, Addelyn was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue pants, and white tennis shoes.

Family members told reporters that they were heartbroken and terrified when they discovered the video of Addelyn discussing plans to run away, though they did not elaborate on her reasons or whether anyone else may have been involved.

While few details have been released about how or where she was found, Addelyn’s family expressed immense relief, thanking authorities and volunteers for helping bring their daughter home safely.

Kentucky State Police have not said whether the investigation will continue to determine what led to the 11-year-old’s decision to leave home.
