Bigshawno “Macwithdafatcat” Corshawnda, a pregnant mother, was attacked by a group of elementary school children outside Orville T. Bright School on Chicago’s South Side.
Early reports mistakenly claimed the incident happened in Columbia, South Carolina, but community advocates confirmed the assault took place in Chicago, near the school campus.
According to witnesses, a group of elementary-aged students began following Corshawnda — who reportedly has sickle cell disease — as she walked with her two children after picking them up from school. The students were allegedly attempting to fight her son. When they caught up, the group attacked both the mother and the child, knocking them to the ground and continuing to assault them.
Community advocates say they have already identified several of the children involved. They plan to accompany the family to the school to demand accountability and ensure the incident is properly addressed.
Chicago police (CPD) have been notified and are reportedly investigating the matter.
Advocates describe the attack as disturbing and traumatic for the family, emphasizing that such violence involving elementary students is unacceptable and must be taken seriously.
A video of the incident has been circulating online.
