Carnival Horizon Teen Anna Kepner Found Dead, Stuffed Under A Bed On Carnival Cruise Ship After Complaining of Feeling Unwell

The tragic case of Anna Kepner, an 18-year-old from Titusville, Florida, who was found dead aboard the Carnival Horizon earlier this month, continues to draw intense public scrutiny. Questions remain over whether her death was natural or the result of foul play.

Kepner was on a six-day Caribbean cruise with her family when she was discovered dead in international waters between Mexico and Florida. FBI agents boarded the Carnival Horizon upon its return to the Port of Miami, though authorities have not disclosed the circumstances of her death or confirmed any suspicions of foul play.

Reports and social media posts allege that Kepner was found wrapped in a blanket, covered with life jackets, and stuffed under a bed. One post claimed her younger stepbrother may have been involved, though investigators have not confirmed these claims.

According to sources cited by the Daily Mail, Kepner had complained of feeling unwell during dinner on the evening of November 6, before returning to her cabin. The following morning, her father, Christopher Kepner, 41, and stepmother, Shauntel Hudson, 36, noticed she was missing. Despite a search across the 4,000-person cruise ship, Kepner’s whereabouts remained unknown until a crew member discovered her body around 11 a.m. on November 7.

The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner listed her time of death as 11:17 a.m. on November 7, without specifying the cause or location of death. Authorities, including the FBI, have declined to comment further, fueling widespread speculation on social media and discussion forums.

Kepner’s father described the uncertainty and ongoing investigation, saying, “We were there as a family. Everybody was questioned. Everybody came off that ship. I don’t know who they are looking at or what their investigation is. The FBI hasn’t shared anything with me yet. I would imagine they’re going to be in contact with me about it—but I know as little as everybody else.”

Anna Kepner had been set to graduate in May and had planned to join the military. She grew up with her father, stepmother Tabitha Kepner, and two younger siblings, while her stepmother Shauntel has three children of her own. The blended family lives near Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center.

Anna was an avid traveler who frequently shared her experiences on social media, including TikTok, where she posted clips of previous cruises, including the Carnival Horizon just six months prior.

Despite the intense public interest, authorities remain tight-lipped. An FBI spokesperson stated recently: “No further information is being released at this time.”

The case continues to develop as investigators question family members and examine the circumstances surrounding the teen’s untimely death.
