The fiancé and younger sister of 22-year-old Rebecca Kay Park — the Michigan woman who disappeared earlier this month and was later found dead in the Manistee National Forest — are now both behind bars at the Wexford County Jail, according to jail records. Hours after search teams located remains believed to be Park on Tuesday, authorities arrested her fiancé, 43-year-old Richard Lee Falor, a convicted sex offender currently listed as non-compliant on Michigan’s registry. Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, officers also took Park’s 21-year-old sister, Kimberly Sue Park, into custody. Neither individual’s charges have been publicly disclosed, but both are scheduled to appear in court for arraignment at 1:30 p.m.

Park was reported missing on November 4 after she was last seen the day before, stepping into a vehicle outside her mother’s home in Boon Township. The 39-week-pregnant woman had reportedly received $2,000 in family inheritance funds that same day. Two days later, her cellphone — something her fiancé insisted she never left behind — was found discarded near her mother’s house, fueling early fears that something was terribly wrong. Authorities had previously stated there was no direct evidence of assault despite rumors circulating online, and insisted no bloody clothing had been recovered.

In earlier interviews, Falor told reporters that Park had informed her mother, “This is something I’ve got to do. I’m sorry,” before getting into the vehicle. He added that he only wanted to know she and their unborn son were safe, emphasizing how unusual it was for her to go anywhere without her phone.

Now, with Park’s remains discovered in the forest and two close relatives in custody, investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine cause and manner of death. Law enforcement has not said whether they suspect foul play, but the timing of the arrests has intensified public scrutiny and speculation as the community demands answers. For now, officials are releasing minimal information while the case continues to unfold — and two of the people closest to Rebecca Park wait to learn their fate in court.
