A 22-year-old Florida gym teacher, Yezmar Angeanis Ramos-Figueroa, has been arrested for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages and photos to a 13-year-old student at a private Christian school, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Ramos-Figueroa, who worked as a physical education teacher at Central Pointe Christian Academy in Kissimmee, was taken into custody on Wednesday. Her arrest came weeks after the child’s mother alerted authorities to disturbing communication between the teacher and her son, a minor who attended the school’s virtual middle-school program.

Teacher Allegedly Admits to Sending Messages

According to investigators, Ramos-Figueroa admitted during questioning that she had texted the student and sent him a photo. Detectives confirmed the student’s age and enrollment at the private Christian school, prompting immediate action.

Felony Charges Filed

Following the investigation, Ramos-Figueroa was charged with two third-degree felonies:

• Distributing obscene material to a minor

• Transmitting harmful material to a minor

Each felony carries a potential maximum sentence of up to five years in prison if she is convicted.

She is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Central Pointe Christian Academy is a private K-12 school located in Kissimmee, approximately 20 miles south of Orlando.
