Jhonrey R. Labador has not been confirmed as a suspect in the shooting of Barangay Captain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol Jr., who was killed during a Facebook live stream in Tres de Mayo, Digos City, on November 25, 2025.

According to family members, a man who was initially mentioned online—after returning a wallet belonging to Captain Bucol—has been cleared of suspicion. The family expressed relief after confirming that he was not connected to the fatal shooting.

In a Facebook post, Shellmae Bajenting Galicia clarified that her uncle, known as “Ting Derecho,” had no involvement in the crime. She explained that he simply returned a wallet he had found and was mistakenly linked to the incident through online speculation.

“Ting Derecho” himself also posted online, stating that he was only trying to return the lost wallet and had even publicly shared his phone number in hopes of contacting its owner.

The identification card inside the wallet belonged to Jhonrey R. Labador, reportedly a sorter at PH Global Jet Express Inc. Labador’s family explained that he had lost the wallet earlier and that the return post confirmed its whereabouts. They appealed for understanding and asked that no charges be filed against the individual who returned it. Labador’s family added that he is willing to cooperate fully with police if needed.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the actual suspect responsible for the shooting of Captain Bucol, and the investigation remains ongoing.
