A South Miami woman has been arrested after police say she attacked her boyfriend with a machete during an argument sparked by photos of her holding and hugging another man.
According to a police arrest report, Liz “Vanessa” Frechel, 46, and her boyfriend were having dinner at the Texas Roadhouse in Fontainebleau on November 20 when he came across images on her cellphone showing her with another man. The discovery led to a heated confrontation inside the restaurant, prompting the boyfriend to leave.
The next day, November 21, the man went to Frechel’s home near Southwest 72 Street and 62 Avenue to return her medication, glasses, and a mug — items he had with him before deciding to end the relationship. What began as a simple drop-off quickly escalated into violence.
Police reports state that as soon as he arrived, Frechel confronted him and shouted:
“You are not going anywhere … You are going to pay … I am going to kill you.”
Investigators say Frechel then went to her closet, took out a machete, and attacked him. A neighbor later told police they heard a woman yelling, objects being thrown, and a man crying inside the home.
