Paystack Co-Founder Ezra God Olubi Suspended After Old Tweets About Touching His Cat’s Nipples Resurface

Ezra God Olubi has been suspended from his duties at Paystack after old tweets resurfaced in which he claimed he had been touching his cat’s nipples, sparking accusations of bestiality and widespread backlash. The revived posts also drew renewed scrutiny to dozens of decade-old tweets containing sexually explicit remarks about colleagues and minors. TechCabal reported that Olubi was contacted for comment but did not respond before publication.

Paystack confirmed the suspension in a statement, saying, “Paystack is aware of the allegations involving our Co-founder, Ezra Olubi. As of Thursday evening, November 13, 2025, Ezra has been suspended from all duties and responsibilities pending a formal investigation.” The tweets, which predate the founding of Paystack, resurfaced on Thursday and quickly spread across X, prompting intense public discussion about professional boundaries and the expectations placed on senior figures in the tech industry. Olubi did not address the allegations publicly and deactivated his X account the same day.

The resurfacing of Olubi’s tweets comes at a time when the African tech ecosystem has already faced a series of misconduct scandals involving high-ranking executives. Just last month, Kenyan IT firm Pawa IT Solutions saw its CEO, Oscar Limoke, fined by the Employment and Labour Relations Court following sexual harassment and assault allegations that led to the resignation of a staff member. The renewed attention around workplace behavior, accountability, and leadership standards has added further pressure as Paystack launches its internal investigation into the allegations against Olubi.
