A 43-year-old woman from Washington, Illinois, identified as Robyn Polston, has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a teenage boy — an alleged relationship that resulted in her becoming pregnant and giving birth to the victim’s child earlier this year.
According to Washington Police, Polston’s arrest came after months of investigation into reports of predatory sexual behavior involving a 14-year-old boy. She now faces charges of Criminal Sexual Assault and Child Pornography, as reported by CIProud.
Authorities say Polston, a local hairstylist and mother of two teenagers, allegedly groomed and exploited her daughter’s former boyfriend, eventually moving the teen into her home under false pretenses. Investigators believe she misled the boy’s grandparents about her intentions before engaging in a months-long sexual relationship that led to pregnancy.
During the investigation, police executed several search warrants and collected both digital and biological evidence, including DNA samples used to confirm the child’s paternity.
Reports indicate that while pregnant, Polston lied about the identity of the baby’s father, telling clients and acquaintances that he was a man serving in the military. Witnesses later came forward saying they had frequently seen a young boy with her and were told he was her “boyfriend’s younger brother.”
Suspicion mounted when one individual recognized the boy from a middle school yearbook, identifying him as her daughter’s 14-year-old ex-boyfriend. Investigators also uncovered that Polston had participated in a maternity photo shoot with the boy, allegedly telling the photographer he was 25 but “looked young for his age.”
Police said the boy was even present during prenatal appointments and at the birth of the child, deepening concerns of long-term abuse and manipulation.
Following the confirmation of the child’s paternity, Robyn Polston was taken into custody on Monday and booked into the Tazewell County Jail, where she remains pending court proceedings.
Washington Police stated that the case remains active, and additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
