Authorities have confirmed the arrest of Ion Brag, identified as the second suspect in the triple homicide that left Li Ojay Simpson, his young daughter Jhersi Simpson, and another victim dead on Grammont Street in Monroe, Louisiana.
According to the Monroe Police Department, the fatal shooting occurred in the early hours of October 28 in Ouachita Parish, claiming the lives of Jamal Bosley, Jaborris Simpson, and Jhersi Simpson, a two-year-old girl. Investigators say Brag was taken into custody following evidence linking him to the brutal killings.
Authorities had earlier arrested Cameron Criner in connection with the same case. Police described Criner’s criminal record as “extensive and deeply troubling,” citing multiple prior offenses. His history includes second-degree feticide, domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted offender, false imprisonment, and probation violations dating between 2021 and 2022.
The tragic incident has shaken the Monroe community, with many expressing grief and outrage over the violent deaths — particularly of the two-year-old child. The Monroe Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killings and the motive behind them.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the suspects’ relationship to the victims or additional arrests.
