TIFFIN, Ohio — A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Tiffin on November 19, when four people — including two young children — were killed in what police have confirmed as a murder-suicide carried out by 42-year-old Ryan Eagon.
According to the Tiffin Police Department, officers were called to the 100 block of Huss Street around 6:30 p.m. after multiple reports of screaming and gunfire. What they discovered was a devastating scene tied to an ongoing domestic situation.
Authorities say the violence began as the mother of two young boys was attempting to remove her belongings from the home. Eagon, her husband and the father of her 7-month-old son, was believed to be out of town for work — but he unexpectedly appeared in the driveway.
Inside the home were the mother and her friend, 29-year-old Dustin Willey, who was helping her move. Willey is also the father of her 7-year-old son, Wrenn. The two boys were outside while their mother and Willey gathered items inside.

The mother survived the attack and was able to call 911 — but not before witnessing both of her children die in her arms.
Ohio BCI is leading the investigation into the tragic murder-suicide as the community reels from the horrific loss of four lives.
Friends told 13 Action News that Dustin Willey was the kind of man who never hesitated to help others — and that’s exactly what he was doing the day he was killed, supporting his son’s mother as she tried to safely leave a difficult situation.

Gallagher added that Willey embodied what it meant to be a dedicated single dad, always present and always involved. “He did so much with him. He showed what it means to be there for your child,” she said.
The senseless violence has left the community heartbroken, especially because two young children were among the victims. “We’re all trying to process it — it’s even worse when it happens to kids,” Gallagher said.
She said Wrenn loved being a big brother and had a bright, loving spirit. “It’s tragic. When you learn it happened to someone with such a big heart, someone so kind, it feels like losing a family member,” she said.
