An argument over a turkey inside a High Point Food Lion erupted into a violent shooting Thursday evening, according to police and video obtained by WFMY News 2. The confrontation involved two High Point men—Mark Foye and Antonio Johnson—who are now facing criminal charges after the fight spilled from the grocery aisles to the parking lot.
Police say the conflict began when a customer, believed to be Foye, got into a heated dispute with a Food Lion employee about a turkey. Another customer, believed to be Johnson, stepped in, and the situation quickly escalated into a physical fight.
A witness video shows the men brawling near the front entrance of the Food Lion on 2705 N. Main St. Foye, wearing a striped sweatshirt, can be seen throwing punches before pulling out a gun and pointing it directly at Johnson’s face while gripping him by the collar. Johnson, wearing a gray hoodie, appears stunned as onlookers react in shock.

Foye and Johnson have each been charged with going armed to the terror of the public and simple affray, authorities said.
WFMY News 2 obtained 19 separate 911 calls from the scene, including frantic reports from employees, shoppers inside the Food Lion, and people in surrounding businesses. In one call, an operator asks whether anyone is injured, and the caller responds, “There’s shots fired—at least six. I don’t know, I’ve got two kids with me,” capturing the chaos as families scrambled for safety.
One 911 caller, believed to be a Food Lion employee, told dispatchers that Foye was a frequent customer. In the background, staff could be heard urgently directing shoppers to exit through the back of the store to avoid the danger.
Multiple calls also came from the nearby YMCA, where people sheltered in place until police gave the all-clear.
Food Lion reopened Friday morning and referred all questions to local law enforcement as the investigation continues.
