A heartwarming encounter at TGI Fridays in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has evolved into a charitable partnership between Brittany Bell, the waitress who comforted a toddler during a stressful travel moment, and Chailaine, the child’s mother.
Bell first gained viral attention after soothing Chailaine’s son, who was on the verge of a meltdown. Chailaine revealed her son was born without a hand following a high-risk pregnancy, making Bell’s empathetic gesture all the more meaningful.
Inspired by Bell’s kindness, Chailaine launched a GoFundMe campaign, raising over $9,000 toward its $10,000 goal by Sunday.
From Kindness to Community Impact
The pair have now joined forces to support families facing medical challenges, particularly mothers navigating difficult pregnancies and neonatal care. They are selling T-shirts with messages of resilience and awareness, with proceeds going to groups that assist “moms who just need to be seen in really hard moments,” according to 11Alive.
Bell called the experience “life-changing” in an interview with 11Alive:
“Thank you for showing me how much you appreciated me to the world. They actually found us to connect us together. Now I feel like I’m part of the family.”
Chailaine said their partnership reflects her desire to give back after her own “scary” pregnancy journey. First reported by 11Alive on December 13, 2025, the story continues to inspire donations and social media shares, proving how a small act of compassion can spark lasting impact.
