A rollover accident on Bob Bullock Loop in East Laredo tragically claimed the life of 29-year-old Celica Analy Gonzalez. Gonzalez was pronounced dead Thursday, December 18, three days after the crash.
According to Laredo police, the single-vehicle accident occurred on Monday, December 15, when Gonzalez was traveling southbound in the outer lane near Loop 20 and Casa Blanca Road. Authorities say she lost control of her Kia Soul, which collided with a light pole, rolled over, and landed in a ditch. Rescue crews extricated Gonzalez, who was transported to Laredo Medical Center in critical condition, but she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
No other vehicles were involved, and police continue to investigate the exact cause of the crash. Southbound lanes near the lake were temporarily closed after the accident, with traffic diverted until the highway reopened later that afternoon.
Family and community members remembered Gonzalez as a beloved and vibrant young woman, whose life and presence touched many. A GoFundMe campaign has been organized to support her family, raising $25,000 toward a $35,000 goal as of Saturday.
