A father, Trevor Moore, has opened a GoFundMe campaign after a man, identified as Joshua Threatt, found Moore’s 6-year-old daughter walking alone in freezing temperatures.
According to accounts circulating online, Threatt encountered the child walking unsupervised in the cold and brought her to safety out of concern for her well-being. Social media posts claim that the child’s mother, named in those posts as Te’kela Anderson, had allowed the girl to walk alone, though the full circumstances have not been confirmed by authorities.
Threatt’s actions have been widely praised by commenters who said he protected the child from potentially dangerous situations, including exposure to the weather and possible harm from others.
One online commenter alleged that this was not the first time the child had walked to school alone, writing: *“Wow, so it’s not the little girl’s first time walking to school by herself without appropriate clothing; another man chimed in and said he saw her walking alone in October. Someone call CPS.” These claims have not been verified by officials.
Authorities have not yet released any formal statements regarding the incident, and no official findings about parental responsibility or child welfare have been confirmed.
Moore’s GoFundMe campaign states that funds will be used to support the child’s needs and ensure her safety moving forward.
