Jaclyn L. Hamill, 43, Killed in Head-On Crash With Moving Truck in Southeast

A 43-year-old woman, identified as Jaclyn L. Hamill of New York, was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision involving a sedan and a commercial moving truck in the Town of Southeast, according to authorities.

The crash occurred around 7:11 a.m. on Dec. 16 at the intersection of Deans Corner Road and Turk Hill Road. Investigators said Hamill was driving a 2016 Honda Civic southbound on Deans Corner Road when her vehicle crossed the double yellow centerline while navigating a curve and collided with a northbound moving truck.

Hamill was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the commercial truck were not injured.

Road Closure and Investigation

Deans Corner Road was closed for several hours as emergency responders and investigators worked at the scene. The New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit assisted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in examining the crash.

Officials said the investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing, and no charges have been announced at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office extended its condolences to Hamill’s family, stating it offers “its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Hamill during this difficult time.”
