StayBae Staying-Strong Claims Alvin Echols Sexually Assaulted Her Before His Death at Westland Kroger

A woman known online as StayBae Staying-Strong has alleged that Alvin Echols, the Salvation Army bell ringer who was fatally shot last week at a Westland Kroger, sexually assaulted her prior to his death.

In a series of social media posts, StayBae Staying-Strong claimed Echols raped her and later stalked and harassed her after his release from prison. She alleged that she sought an apology and closure, and encouraged other women she says were harmed by Echols to come forward. Her statements have not been independently verified by law enforcement.

The posts, which have circulated widely online, were made after Echols was killed Thursday evening outside the Kroger on Ford Road in Westland, Michigan. Authorities have not publicly connected the allegations to the shooting, and police have not announced any findings regarding the claims.

Echols was identified by family members as a Salvation Army bell ringer who had been working outside the store at the time of the shooting. According to relatives, he was trying to earn money to help support his nieces and nephews during the holiday season.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized by Echols’ cousin, Janee, to assist with funeral expenses and immediate family needs. The fundraiser description notes the family is experiencing “unimaginable heartbreak,” compounded by the loss occurring just days before Christmas.

Echols’ sister, Amanda Stamper, told Westland Community News that the family is struggling to determine how they will lay him to rest.

“He was working to help support his nieces and nephews for Christmas time,” Stamper said.

Westland police continue to investigate the fatal shooting. At this time, authorities have not released information regarding a suspect or motive, nor have they confirmed any connection between the homicide and the allegations shared online.

Anyone with information related to the shooting is urged to contact the Westland Police Department.
