Zephyrhills, Florida — Pasco County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a domestic-related murder-suicide that left a man and woman dead in the Brackett Bend neighborhood early Wednesday morning, authorities reported.
The victims, identified as Wilmer Russi and Devri Gonzalez, were found deceased at their residence following a 911 call reporting a serious domestic incident around 3:35 a.m. on December 18, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. First responders pronounced both adults dead at the scene.
Preliminary Findings
Authorities indicated that preliminary evidence suggests an adult male fatally shot an adult female before taking his own life. Officials confirmed there were no other suspects and described the incident as isolated, stressing that there is no threat to the public.
The couple were parents to two young daughters, who were unharmed and have been placed with family members.Community Response and Support
In the wake of the tragedy, a GoFundMe account titled “Honoring Devri’s Memory and Caring for Her Children” was created to assist with funeral expenses and support for the children. The fundraiser set a goal of $50,000.
The campaign describes Gonzalez as “a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met. Her sudden passing has left her family and friends heartbroken, especially her parents, David and Rachel, and her brother, Deven, who are now doing everything they can to support Devri’s children and honor her memory.”
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
