Charles and Richard Geragi Killed in Boynton Beach Shooting Linked to $5 Million Fraud Case; Suspect Nesar Dawla Dies After Police Pursuit

Two business executive brothers were fatally shot Monday afternoon inside a Boynton Beach office in what police say was a targeted attack tied to a multimillion-dollar fraud case.

Charles Geragi, 67, and Richard Geragi, 72, both of Delray Beach, were found dead inside an office at All-American Farms Inc. on High Ridge Road around 4 p.m. on January 12, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department.

Authorities identified the suspected shooter as Nesar Dawla, 39, of West Palm Beach. Police said Dawla fled the scene following the shooting and later died after shooting himself during a brief police pursuit.

Investigators said Charles Geragi had arranged to meet with Dawla to discuss the return of funds connected to a 2024 fraud case involving Dawla’s brother. During that meeting, Dawla allegedly produced a firearm and shot both men, killing them.

The shooting is tied to a fraud investigation involving Sadman Dawla, Nesar Dawla’s brother and a former employee of All-American Farms Inc. Police said Sadman Dawla defrauded the company of more than $5 million in 2024 by writing as many as 371 unauthorized checks.

Records reviewed by WPTV show Sadman Dawla worked in the same office where the Geragi brothers were killed and wrote at least 12 checks totaling more than $56,000 to his brother, Nesar Dawla. He was later convicted of four felony counts of grand theft over $100,000.

Investigators said Nesar Dawla was previously suspected of involvement in the fraud scheme, but there was insufficient evidence at the time to file charges.

After the shooting, witnesses reported seeing Dawla flee in a white Cadillac SUV. Officers located the vehicle around 4:40 p.m. near Northwest 7th Court and attempted a traffic stop, but Dawla did not comply.

Following a short pursuit, police observed Dawla shoot himself before the vehicle crashed near Leisureville Boulevard. A SWAT team later found him inside the SUV with a fatal gunshot wound.

As a precaution, nearby schools and businesses were briefly placed on lockdown during the police response. Authorities confirmed the shooting did not occur at a school.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Gleicher at [email protected] or call 561-742-6163.
