Detroit, Michigan — Jalen Stevens was killed, and his relative Glenn Stevens was hospitalized in critical condition following a violent incident early Sunday morning outside Chita’s Nefertiti bar on Detroit’s west side, authorities confirmed.
Police responded to the 15900 block of Grand River Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. after reports of a stabbing and shooting. Officers found Jalen Stevens fatally shot and Glenn Stevens suffering stab wounds. Glenn Stevens remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Family members and friends expressed their grief on social media. One post read:
