Randy Curtis Rilla Shot and Killed in Chicago, Police Say

Randy Curtis Rilla was shot and killed late Tuesday night in Chicago, according to police.

Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1600 block of East 85th Place shortly before 10:30 p.m., the Chicago Police Department said. Upon arrival, they found Rilla suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

Rilla was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

No suspects are currently in custody, and police have not released information about a possible motive. Area detectives are investigating the shooting.

Authorities initially did not publicly identify the victim, and the investigation remains ongoing.
