Jasmin Videto and Husband Davin Videto Face Tragedy After 3-Year-Old Atticus and 1-Year-Old Dillon Die in Jackson, Michigan House Fire

Jasmin Videto, 23, is struggling to cope after a tragic house fire in Jackson, Michigan, claimed the lives of her two young sons, Atticus, 3, and Dillon, 1. Her husband, 27-year-old Davin Videto, who tried desperately to save the boys, remains in critical condition at the hospital and has not yet been told of their deaths.

The fire broke out at the family’s rental home on Sunday, February 8. Jasmin and Davin woke up that morning to noises from their youngest son, Dillon, and soon heard Atticus screaming. When the fire alarm went off, the couple rushed to the boys’ bedroom, only to find flames blocking their way. Davin pushed Jasmin aside and entered the room, shutting the door behind him.

Jasmin attempted to rescue their dogs, Patch and Nevaeh, but both refused to leave their kennels. She then tried to break the window of her sons’ bedroom, but the storm glass was too strong. She heard Davin screaming and rushed to the front door, where her husband managed to drag himself out into the snow, badly burned.

Firefighters and first responders arrived shortly after 7:53 a.m., finding an intense fire on the first floor. Despite extreme conditions, they located the boys, but the fire had made the home untenable. Tragically, Atticus and Dillon were pronounced dead at the scene. A subsequent search revealed that the family’s two dogs had also perished.

Authorities say the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Michigan State Police Sgt. Greg Nichols confirmed that the origin does not appear suspicious, and that working fire alarms were present in the home at the time of the blaze.

Jasmin, now left to grieve alone, said she cannot imagine life without her children. “I don’t know who I am without my kids, without taking care of my kids, without taking care of my husband and my family,” she said. “It feels like a nightmare inside of a nightmare.”

While mourning her sons, Jasmin is also focusing on her husband’s recovery. “His entire goal was to save his children,” she said.

A GoFundMe page has been launched by a family member to help the Videtos recover from the tragedy. The organizer wrote that their lives “will never be the same” after Davin risked everything trying to save his family.

Jasmin holds on to the memories of her sons: Atticus, the protective older brother, and Dillon, her “cuddle bug.” “I would do anything, anything for us to be home with them again,” she said. “That’s what we lived for, our kids.”
